“all that you can see is only a piece of an ocean” Le Loup, Sherpa
I made a series of these bowls in ceramics each using a quote or a lyric having to do with the sea or ocean. Coming from the pacific northwest my childhood revolved around afternoons spent peering into the depths of the many tidepools the local saltwater park had to offer. The influence of my fisherman father and brother have also provided a huge source inspiration in my work, which can be seen in the color pallets and aquatic and nautical undertones of my art. The shattered glass at the bottom of the bowl is meant to evoke the same feeling I’ve had while gazing into the puget sound.
